Computational Analysis of Neuronal Cell Types

PatchView Implementation

PatchView integrates multiple open-source tools and wraps them using an intuitive graphic user interface (GUI). Thus, users can perform most analyses quickly on data collected in a typical patch-clamp experiment without installing Python or writing any Python scripts.

PatchView is useful when it comes to:

  • Importing both Heka data and Axon Instruments data.
  • Visualizing single and multiple traces with zoom, pan operations.
  • Automatically sorting experiments data according to predefined labels.
  • Performing analysis on intrinsic membrane properties, action potential detection, firing pattern analysis.
  • Synaptic connection analysis.
  • Visualizing and quantification of neuron’s morphological reconstruction from Neurolucida
  • Exporting and importing data in NWB format

Neuron 3D Model

Reconstructed neurons are registered into a 3D model. The different colors correspond to different cell types based on an integrated analysis of their transcriptome, morphology, and in-vitro slice physiology.

Monkey Prefrontal Cortex (PFC) Model

3D water-tight mesh reconstruction of a pyramidal neuron from monkey PFC based on staining data. These types of graphics are very useful for detailed biophysical modeling.
